I was honored to be invited by Dr. Liu Bingtang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiwan Pain Medicine Association, and Professor Chen Zhenyin, President of the Association, to be a speaker at the 【Multidisciplinary Intervention Forum for Lower Back Pain】 held in Kaohsiung. I also thank Minister Chen Weihong and Director Lin Chunru. The excellent hosting made this interdisciplinary exchange even more comprehensive.

My topic this time was: 【computed tomography (CT)-guided lower back pain treatment and related medical image interpretation】, focusing on how to use precise imaging to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain. My key points in the forum included:

This was a cross-specialty and cross-technology "melting pot"—each speaker's sharing showed me a deeper understanding of lower back pain from different medical perspectives:

[Dr. Zhuang Jingwei]: His presentation connected the source of symptoms using spinal nerve anatomy and compression mechanisms, very solid.
[Dr. Li Weixuan]: He discussed ultrasound guidance, precisely explaining the location differences between "intracapsular injection of the facet joint" and "medial nerve block." He also discussed several topics including intervertebral disc injection from an empirical perspective.
[Dr. Cai Donghan]: He described the situation of nerves being sandwiched from the front and back with rich surgical experience, so vividly that it felt like seeing the surgical field.
[Dr. Carol McMakin and Therapist Chiu Tan-Yi: Presented the theory and live demonstration of FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent).
Therapist Chen Hui-Chun: Supplemented the mind-body-organ connection of pain with a holistic viewpoint of VM, CST, and SER.
Coach Hung Ting-Hsuan's explanation and demonstration of lower back pain exercise training, each topic helped Bow Wang, M.D. break through and gain basic understanding of his knowledge gaps.

Lower back pain treatment requires more connections; sometimes it cannot be solved by a single technique or solely by structural interpretation. We also look forward to continuing to exchange ideas with professionals from different fields in the future, so that more patients can benefit.
