I am grateful to Professor Ming-Lung Yeh of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University for the invitation to give a lecture at the department on the examinations and treatments that radiologists/imaging specialists can perform in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and pain management.

Previously, through the introduction of Dr. Yi-Shan Tsai, and as the person in charge of the Taiwan Instrument Research Center of the National Applied Research Laboratories and the Scientific Instruments News magazine, I was invited by Professor Ming-Lung Yeh to write an article in issue 229 of Q4 2021 on the application of medical imaging diagnosis and interventional therapy techniques in bone tumors and other diseases, which led to us becoming Facebook friends. Through social media, Professor Yeh also noticed some of the related examinations and treatments I perform, which gave me this opportunity to exchange ideas.

Taking advantage of the short time I had before the lecture, I strolled around the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. Besides seeing the full-time faculty members whose work is closely related to my field, I was also amazed by the research of many experts. Could there be some opportunity to spark some new ideas?

After the lecture, I had a brief Q&A session and discussion with two doctoral students, who are also neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons, about the topic and other clinical matters. We exchanged contact information, learned from each other, and had the chance to create greater value by interacting with different people. I also hope to grow and thrive quickly into the person I aspire to be.
