[Taoyuan Lianxin International Hospital] [Academic Exchange] [Transarterial Microembolization (TAME)] 2021-4-1

Thank you to Dr. Lu Bing-sheng and the Department of Radiology for the invitation to speak at Taoyuan Lianxin International Hospital today about musculoskeletal vascular embolization analgesia (TAME for pain). I also observed Dr. Lu performing two cases and discussed the details of the treatment technique.

One case involved osteoarthritis of the knee. Despite rehabilitation, hyaluronic acid injections, and PRP injections, the patient still experienced pain. Dr. Lu used the Retrograde trans-ATA TAME for OA. (knee).

In another case of chronic pain from osteoarthritis in both hands, Dr. Lu used a simplified transradial analgesia (TAME) for OA hand.

Both patients experienced immediate pain relief post-surgery, which is very gratifying.

Thank you to Dr. Huang Yu-Han, the pain specialist who referred these two cases. We hope that collaboration between the radiology and pain management departments can address the various chronic pain issues of more patients.

Finally, thank you to Director Guo Ye-Lin for sharing the differences between regional hospitals and medical centers. I also learned a great deal from her experiences and stories, which broadened my horizons and was very beneficial.
